A fuse board that stops tripping.
Modern RCD-protected boards fitted, tripping faults traced and put right for good — the cause found first, so you aren't paying for a new board that trips on the same fault.

sample figure
Most consumer unit changes land between £550 and £900, depending on the number of circuits and whether the earthing needs bringing up to standard.
Voltway is a fictional business, so every figure on this page is made up to show the shape of a real service page. A live site carries the business's own prices.
Three questions people ask
- Why does it keep tripping?
- Almost always one circuit with a fault — damp, a failing appliance, or a fixing through a cable. A board with individual RCBOs also stops one fault taking the whole house out.
- Do I legally have to replace it?
- No law says swap a working board. But if an inspection flags it, or you're adding something like an EV charger, it often has to be upgraded first.
- How long is the power off?
- Three to four hours for a straight swap. We tell you the window before we isolate anything, so you can plan round it.
